People behind Fortumo
Martin Koppel
As CEO, Martin is responsible for management of the company.
Martin has previously worked in different IT-companies in different sales and management positions. In addition he has been behind the launch and sales of first Baltic “Instant web building service”. Martin has completed a masters’ study in marketing and business administration at the University of Tartu. He has a passion for new cool web services, internet marketing tricks, fiction books and team sports.
Perry Tell
As VP of Sales and Marketing, Perry is responsible for starting up our new business efforts in North America.
Perry has been in the Mobile industry for 8 years. Prior to joining Fortumo, Perry had created a few notable mobile media start-ups in the Silicon Valley, including XLR8 Mobile and Dijit, and also an award winning retail clothing business called Elisa Wen. Perry has worked as Managing Director for a User Experience Design group at renowned consulting firm, Cambridge Technology Partners, and has held senior management positions at some other top marketing/advertising agencies.
Perry began his career in the music business as a recording artist and producer. He is a voting member for the Grammys/NARAS, and has published songs all over the world. He has many passions and hobbies, including travel, sports, music, and poker. Currently, he is training to play Texas Hold’em in the World Series of Poker.
Rain Rannu
Rain is a founder of Fortumo, responsible for company’s strategic and new business development.
Rain has been involved in mobile industry for 10 years. Prior to founding Fortumo, Rain was also the founder and head of business development for the leading Baltic mobile service provider Mobi Solutions. Rain has also worked in several innovative enterprises in the fields of sales, web development and project consulting.
Rain has an MBA degree in Entrepreneurship and Technology Management from the University of Tartu. He is frequently lecturing at E-Governance Academy and is among the speakers at industry events like Mobile World Congress.
Besides spending time with his family, Rain likes to travel, read, listen to good music, run a marathon every year and play tennis once in a while.
Veljo Otsason
Veljo is a founder and CTO of Fortumo

Prior to founding Fortumo and Mobi Solutions, Veljo was responsible for the launch of the first commercial investment portal in Estonia, as well as managed the development of PriceWaterhouseCoopers corporate portal. Veljo has studied technology and computer science in BS and MS level at the University of Tartu and MS level at the University of Toronto, Canada.
Veljo likes everything cool and a bit dangerous – in winter you can find him snowboarding, rest of the year windsurfing or jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. In addition Veljo tries to keep an eye on all the cool technological trends and services.
Po-Han Chang
Pohan is the Head of the Asia region at Fortumo. New countries, business opportunities, partner relations – you name it, there isn’t anything he can’t handle in the fastest growing region in the world.

Although, Pohan is originally from Taiwan, he has worked in different international European companies from UK, France and Germany in really dynamic domains. Before joining the Fortumo team, Pohan was taking care of the South East Asian market in the mobile entertainment group Fox Mobile (Jamba). Pohan has also run his own internet business. He has studied computer science in MSc level at the University of Newcastle and international trade in BA level.
Pohan has a passion for stock-exchange and RSS all international news. Despite the international life-style, Pohan still loves to travel and will like to live on Galápagos one day.
Branimir Parashkevov
Branimir is our man in Havana, well in Sofia, to be honest. He is taking care of everything in Bulgaria and
also dealing with big clients in Eastern Europe and preparing country launches in that region.
Branimir is a true Renaissance Man – he is doing his degree in Computer Science and Business Administration at the same time. There isn’t better profile for a start-up marketing guru
. He loves reading books, specially science fiction and you can tell it right away. He is extremely friendly and there isn’t a moment when Branimir isn’t telling a good story. He is kind of computer and console gaming addict but he loves hiking as well. Most probably it is painful since he has to be away from internet and computer.

Andrei Dementjev
Andrei is working hard to deliver Fortumo to Russian-speaking society and actively promote it in CIS countries like Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. And of course he’s the one standing behind Fortumo’s expansions in the region.
At the moment ,Andrei studies for economics MA at the University of Tartu. Before joining Fortumo, he has worked as a freelance web developer and got involved in different web projects. In his spare time, he likes play all kinds of sports and travel across the globe. His latest hobbies are cross country running and digital photography. He would describe himself as an active, friendly and modest person.
Alex Covic

Alex is sitting in his castle in Belgrade and does marketing sorcery (and drinks way too much coffee in the process). All trendy marketing channels and tactics are his playground, but he is also our copywriter and sales-bulldozer. And of course Alex is our connectivity guy, constantly working to expand Fortumo to new countries in CEE.
Before joining Fortumo, Alex was working in marketing positions with some of the leading Serbian ISP’s, wrote a IT related column in daily paper (that was before blogs were invented
, and studied design, psychology and e-business. But he also has his hidden powers – he knows karate, and can cook everything from Italian food to sushi.

Yichun Liu

Yichun is in Fortumo Asia team dealing with marketing and client relations.
Yichun is originally from Taiwan and she loves Estonian climate since we have usually temperature below 35 degrees not like in Taiwan
. She is also studying Baltic Social Economy, mainly dealing with Russian society and way of thinking. Yichun loves to drink tea a lot and she is always smiling, so you won’t see her sad at all.
Marianne Võime

Marianne V. is dealing with customer relations, takes care that everything should be ok and all the problems are fixed. You should get along with Marianne, since she is the only one who can help you

Marianne V. studies masters for communication management in Tartu University. She spends most of her free time dancing or being active in her school life. She is cheerful and optimistic, likes to travel and is always opened to new opportunities and experiences. Her friends think of her as a caring and thoughtful person, who never refuses to lend a hand in troubling situations.
Marianne Märtson
Marianne M.’s mission in Fortumo is accounting, accounting and… bookkeeping!
Marianne M. is studying masters in Tartu University for finance and accounting. She likes numbers more than words.
Previously, she has worked in different companies as an accountant. Few times a week she goes to a gym and swimming, in summer rollerskating and running. In her spare time she likes to read books and spend time with her friends.
Triin Mahlakõiv
Triin is managing communication inside Fortumo and with clients, also monitoring services and
dealing with whatever running issues.
Triin studies masters for communication management in Tartu University. She likes projects that have a mission, to create a value in it and improve people’s well-being (for a year Triin has been exploring the opportunities of m-government). She likes challenges and she’s opened for spontaneous conversations, situations, people. She enjoys hour-long walks, running and always has a cup of tea at hand!
Kristjan Uibo

Kristjan is our Ruby Guru- all the nasty back-end hacks and transactions are his playground. It is actually scary since he knows everything about Fortumo and can do what ever he wants
.
‘Talk little, do much’ describes Kristjan the best. He is the guy who is the last one to leave the office. In addition to IT and programming Kristjan has a thing for physics and astronomy, you never know he might find new sun or another star soon. He also likes poker, not to play in casino, but for fun and he is good.
Anna Aljanaki
Anna is mostly dealing with gateway connectivity which means she has a really important part in every new country launch. Therefore she sometimes has to raise very early in the morning to catch some person on the other side of globe who is going to finishing his working day in the evening.
She studies computer science at master’s degree in University of Tartu and at non-working hours Anna plays guitar or deals with rock-climbing.
Tanel Kosk
Tanel’s task is to make Fortumo better and better by developing new and exciting service types, adding to the existing system
more functionality and combining Fortumo to larger and smaller countries.
Tanel has studied in Estonian Aviation Academy and Biology in Tartu University. The first school brought him to the IT- section and the second one to a fellowship with whom Tanel goes time to time to do outdoor nature adventures. He is a family guy, though finds some time to read books and juggle! A good company can make him forget himself by playing chess or debating about society and its organizations. A worthy guy to know!
