Fortumo in Bosnia (and Herzegovina as well)!

In the last couple of months, we’ve seen Fortumo rapidly expand throughout Western Europe, Far East and beyond. At the same time, our user base in the markets we started in a year or more ago – like South East Europe has been growing as well, and we had a lot of (mostly positive :) ) feedback from our friends and customers in that region. One of the questions we heard often was ‘When will Fortumo be available in other counties in the SEE region?’ Today, we are able to answer that question, with the launch of our newest addition to the coverage map – Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A great thing about South East Europe, or ex-Yugoslavia region to be precise, is that the markets there are closely connected, in terms of language, users habits and cultural similarities. It’s not uncommon for a blog or a social game from Croatia to have 50 or more percent of it’s user base from Bosnia or Serbia, and vice-versa. What this means for You, a user of Fortumo services, is that you can approach these 3 countries – Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia as a single, large market. So, if you are planning on expanding your project (a social game, portal, quiz or whatever) to, for instance Bosnia, you can kill 3 birds with one stone, and target a market of more than 15 million users combined by simply adding SMS-services for Serbia and Croatia in the mix. You dont have to localise, translate and set up payment options for your content 3 times – since the language is practically the same, users from all 3 countries will be able to enjoy your web site – and Fortumo’s services will take care of the rest.

SMS services you create in Bosnia will be available to users of all 3 local mobile operators (HT-ERONET, M:tel, BH Mobile), and you can choose from 2 different price points. There are no specific restrictions in the market, apart from the usual ones, so if you are already running a service in Serbia or Croatia, this is a perfect opportunity to expand your user base without any effort. And, since there’s never too much of a good thing, we are working hard on including several new markets in the region to Fortumo – so stay tuned, there will be more good news from Fortumo in the following months.
