One more month passed by and we added so many improvements to our system. Moreover, we are preparing a lot of other surprises for Fortumo’s customers. Follow our blog and you will be the first to learn about them, still today it’s time for the inspiring story of a client of ours – Vladislav Lazarov and Beroe Online.
Beroe Online is the oldest fan-site of a football team in Bulgaria and it is fully functional at the moment. The beginning was set on the 10th of October 2000 and since then it undertakes great development each and every year. It is created by the fans of the football team BEROE and it’s not financed in any way by the football club. Nevertheless, the team, that consists of 16 people, keeps excellent relationship with the management, as well as the employees, the football players and the trainers of the team. On the 1st of October 2008 the newest project of Beroe Online was launched – online radio, that has its own programme, a few shows and live comment of the team’s matches and some of the games of other teams, bearing the same name, as BC BEROE 07 – women etc.
Where did the idea of using SMS-services come from?
In the autumn of this season we started a radio-game in radio Beroe Online, allowing the fans to guess the result for the matches of Beroe. A normal phone line was used for this purpose. This was not very convenient for most of our listeners, that’s why I decided to find an option, allowing sending an SMS in order to participate. I searched the market and browsed through the profiles of a lot of other companies before finding Fortumo. Not always the attitude towards our idea was positive. One of the main competitors of Fortumo at the market in Bulgaria behaved really arrogantly with us and I was very happy when only with a few talks with a representative of Fortumo the service was ready in less than a week, including our own keyword.
The first phase are the prognosis in the radio-game. We are still promoting this idea and expect the results very soon, which will bring towards the popularity of the radio and the site among the local people and the football fans in Bulgaria and in the world. In the future we plan to use SMS services as a tool for micropayments for a few projects of ours, that are currently under development by our team. They will bring added value to the site, not typical even for the official sites of any football team in Bulgaria.
With the rapid spread of the mobile phones in Bulgaria, in the latest years the business of micropayments developed seriously, based on the SMS technology. Using SMS services helps us to be in tact with the trends, to create added-value products, with which help to make a lot more people to be part of the football magic. In the same time his grants us some return on our investment.
